The Athletic has confirmed DaveOCKOP’s previous exclusive on Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

“Nottingham Forest’s Murillo is also well-liked but expected to be valued too high.”

At 22, the Brazilian fits the ideal profile sought by Anfield’s decision-makers.

The Brazilian signed a long-term contract extension in January 2025, committing him to the club until the summer of 2029 as part of Forest’s bid to maintain his market value.

This is also contributing to the high price that Forest will inevitably demand should the Reds enter the negotiation table.

Signed from Corinthians in August 2023 for just £10.6 million, means Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis will want a sizeable profit margin on one of his star players.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Liverpool have already held direct talks with Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, whose versatility at both on the left flank and in the heart of defense is attractive.
