Most Liverpool fans are no doubt tired of hearing about the Marc Guehi situation as we approach the final hours of the summer transfer window.

Having entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, Guehi has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, but Liverpool have emerged as the frontrunners,.

DaveOCKOP.com has been reporting diligently on the transfer, first revealing the Reds’ interest back in March of this year.

We also exclusively revealed that Liverpool is willing to pay up to £30M up front for Guehi, which was since corroborated by Romano.

Since then, hopes were raised after the Italian transfer guru reported that the Eagles had agreed a deal for French and Toulouse centre-back Jaydee Canvot.

However, it seems that the excitement has been misplaced.

Sami Mokbel of the BBC has reported that the Eagles will only consider sanctioning Marc Guehi’s proposed move to Liverpool once they have secured two new signings to strengthen their backline.

The Premier League insider revealed:

Crystal Palace are trying to sign two central defenders before the transfer window closes, which could unlock Marc Guehi’s anticipated move to Liverpool.

“The Premier League champions have held talks over a proposed £35m move for Guehi, but Palace boss Oliver Glasner said the centre-half ‘has’ to remain at the club past Monday’s deadline.”

“There is yet to be an agreement between the two teams, but Liverpool have received encouragement Palace are prepared to sell the England defender and are actively working towards strengthening at centre-back.”
