Enzo Maresca could be without Liam Delap for quite some time after the latest update from the Chelsea manager.
Delap was forced off injured against Fulham, going down while holding his hamstring before being replaced by Tyrique George just 14 minutes into the 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
His start to life in West London has been bright, netting his first goal against Esperance during the Club World Cup, while also sharing the starting striker spot after Joao Pedro joined from Brighton.
However, the Brazilian appears to be a doubt for the Blues’ clash with Brentford on Saturday, 13 September, and now, the seriousness of Delap’s injury has emerged at Chelsea.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Brentford on Saturday, Maresca confirmed Delap will be out for the next 10-12 weeks.
The former Ipswich Town striker’s latest hamstring issue is a major cause for concern with Chelsea’s option up front now seriously limited.

The Blues’ injury problems are stacking up with Cole Palmer close to a return to action but not there yet.
Elsewhere, Levi Colwill is sidelined for the season, joining both Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia on the treatment table in recent weeks.
Nicolas Jackson is no longer an option following his move to Bayern Munich, possibly leaving the manager with very few options in the final third for the coming weeks.
If Delap is out for the full estimated 12 weeks, he won’t return to action for Chelsea until 5 December.
