A watershed moment has arrived in one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer sagas as multiple reports agree that Alexander Isak is now actively seeking a move away from Newcastle United.
The Swedish striker, who electrified Tyneside with 27 goals last season, has reportedly informed Newcastle of his desire to “explore a move” this summer, fuelled in no small part by Liverpool’s persistent interest and the prospect of a headline Premier League switch.
And now Matt Hardy of the Times has revealed that the Reds are ready to fork over £130million to secure the signing, while the player is not believed to be looking at the prospect of joining Al-Hilal:
“Liverpool, as The Times reported last month, are ready with a package of about £130million and the Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal, are thought to be preparing a deal that could be worth as much as £500,000 a week.”
“It is thought that Isak wants to keep playing top-level football at this stage of his career, which makes a potential transfer to Liverpool, the Premier League champions, more likely than a move to Saudi Arabia.”
