Liverpool have been dealt a huge injury blow after Ibrahima Konate was ruled out for weeks following a recent injury.

The Reds secured an impressive 2-0 victory in their latest UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo gave Arne Slot’s side the win, ensuring that Liverpool remains top of the Champions League table.

However, the impressive outing by Liverpool was overshadowed by injuries to Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley.

The Liverpool duo sustained injuries late in the game?

Bradley went down, clutching his thigh in what is suspected to be a hamstring injury.

The Northern Irishman who was replaced by Joe Gomez in the game is feared to have sustained an injury that could rule him out of Liverpool’s December fixtures.

Meanwhile,  Konate is set to miss 5-6 weeks through injury, as we exclusively revealed on Friday.

The defender, who sustained a knee injury after a collision with Real Madrid’s Endrick, will be a big miss for Liverpool.

Konate has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season, so his absence could spell trouble for the Reds, particularly as they navigate a busy and challenging schedule across multiple competitions.

With Liverpool already worrying about the fitness of Kostas Tsimikas and Bradley’s fitness, losing Konate could further complicate things for manager Arne Slot.

Possible matches Ibrahima Konate could miss

Liverpool have a hectic schedule in December and early January.

The Reds have nine games scheduled in 28 days, meaning they play every three days from now till the end of the year.

As such, Konate will miss a good chunk of Liverpool’s most important games this season, beginning with the top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City on Sunday.

Liverpool will welcome Pep Guardiola’s side to Anfield on Sunday before facing Newcastle United away three days later.

Another away fixture against Everton comes next, followed by a Champions League trip to Girona on December 10th.

Liverpool will then play Fulham at Anfield on December 14 before facing Southampton in the Carabao Cup on December 17.

Tottenham Hotspur (A), Leicester City (H), and West Ham United (A) are Liverpool’s final games for 2024.

Konate’s anticipated return date potentially rules him out of Liverpool’s first game in 2025, a home game against Manchester United on January 5th.

In all, Konate could miss ten games for Liverpool, with his likely return making him avaialable for Liverpool’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on January 14, 2025.
