Liverpool Football Club’s brand new partnership with Adidas officially launched today, but the headline-grabbing figures being thrown around barely scratch the surface of what this deal is truly worth to the Merseyside giants.
While most reports have focused on the widely circulated £60 million per year figure, the actual value of Liverpool’s return to the three stripes could dwarf even the most optimistic projections, potentially making it the most lucrative kit deal in Premier League history.
The most commonly reported figure suggests Liverpool’s five-year deal with Adidas is worth around £60-70 million annually, totaling approximately £300-350 million over the contract’s duration.
However, this baseline figure represents just the guaranteed minimum payment and ignores the deal’s true earning potential.
The Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst has reported that the 10-year deal is worth “way over” £600m :
“Liverpool’s brand new 10-year kit deal with Adidas officially begins today, worth way over the reported £600m sum,” he wrote on X.
Liverpool has also negotiated what industry insiders describe as “elite team” status with Adidas, placing them in the same tier as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United.
This classification brings access to exclusive product lines, premium marketing support, and enhanced revenue-sharing arrangements that could add millions to the annual value.
Sam Handy, GM at Adidas Football, said:
“The return of adidas to Liverpool FC is a momentous occasion for us?
Seeing our iconic three stripes adorning Liverpool FC kits again is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
“The Home jersey is a true representation of the Liverpool DNA – classy and understated, while the Away jersey pays homage to the club’s rich history with a unique crest inspired by the original Anfield stadium.”
“I speak on behalf of everyone at adidas when I say this is just the start of an incredible journey and we’re extremely excited for what’s to come.”
