Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have seemingly found themselves in a three-way battle for the Premier League title this season.

Although fourth-placed Aston Villa are just five points behind Manchester City, due to their game in hand, it’s unlikely that they will venture into the title fight.

Despite this, The Villans have had a stellar season and Unai Emery has managed to get the most out of a team which failed to finish inside the top 10 with Steven Gerrard in charge.

And, although each season more often than not has an interesting relegation dog fight to see which teams will be going down, the title is usually a one-horse race (bar the 2022/23 term.)

This season is evidently different and each of Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola believe their team has what it takes to win the title.

However, following his sides draw against the Gunners yesterday, Guardiola believes that Liverpool are now the “favourites” to win the title.

Despite this frank admission, it feels as if the former Barcelona man is just trying to play mind-games with the Reds ahead of the end of season run-in.

So, in order to delve into whether or not the Anfield club have the better chance of the three to win the title, we have decided to take a look into each of the clubs’ next three top flight games.

The next three Premier League games for Liverpool

Following their win against Brighton on Sunday, Liverpool find themselves in the driving seat for the Premier League title.

They currently sit atop of the top flight on 67 points with nine Premier League games to go in order to secure their fate.

However, if Arsenal manage to match their points total, they still lack behind on goal difference and need to improve this to further cement first-place.

In their next three domestic games, Liverpool are set to face two teams which lie outside of the top 10 with the other just inside the top six.

Their next tie is set to come against Sheffield United on Thursday the 4th April.

The last time the two met came all the way back in December and Liverpool managed to triumph over The Blades 2-0.

This game against the South Yorkshire club will likely be the Reds’ best chance at adding to their goal difference due to the form they find themselves in.

Chris Wilder’s side have failed to win in their last five top flight games and have only triumphed three times this term.

Their next game on Sunday the 7th April will be against rivals, Manchester United.

Obviously, the last time the two met left something of a sour taste in Liverpool’s fans’ mouths.

The Red Devils knocked Jurgen Klopp’s men out of the FA Cup in the quarter-finals.

With this in mind, there is no doubt that Virgil van Dijk and his men will want to incite vengeance on Erik ten Hag’s squad and reign victorious come the end of the clash.

Lastly, Klopp’s men will face Crystal Palace on Sunday the 14th of April.

Prior to this tie, the Reds will have faced Atalanta on Thursday the 11th April in the first leg of their Europa League clash.

However, they should have more than enough quality to get past The Eagles as they have only won one top flight game in their last five.

The next three Premier League games for Arsenal

Over the last couple of seasons, Arsenal have started to make a name for themselves in England’s top flight.

Although in the early 2000’s, the Gunners were one of the most feared teams in the world, the club have failed to win a Premier League since 2003.

Which, for a club of Arsenal’s size, isn’t what fans expect of them.

Sure, they have won the odd FA Cup here and there, but, being branded as one of the ‘big six’ should mean that the North London club win more than what they do.

Which, over the last couple of campaigns, feels as if it’s becoming more likely.

They find themselves in second-place and arguably have the most difficult run-in towards the end of the season.

Their next Premier League tie is set to come against relegation battlers, Luton Town on Wednesday the 3rd April.

The Hatters are in 18th place and have failed to win a single top flight game in their last five outings.

Within reason, this should be an easy enough win for Arteta’s men, however, their next game might not be so easy.

Their next clash will come against Brighton on Saturday the 6th of April, the team which Liverpool only just won 2-1 over the weekend.

Roberto De Zerbi has instilled his playing style within the club and is even coming off of a record-breaking finish from last term which is why the Seagulls could prove to be tricky customers in their tie.

Lastly, they will face Aston Villa on Sunday the 14th April.

This game will likely be made more difficult by the fact that the club will just be coming out of a tie against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on the Tuesday before.

As aforementioned, Villa themselves have had a stellar season and even without the Bayern game looming over Arteta’s head, would still prove to be a difficult task.

The next three Premier League games for Manchester City

Manchester City are the furthest team away from the top spot, however, there are only three points separating first and third.

Following their draw against Arsenal over the weekend, City now find themselves in the disadvantaged position of gaining points and goal difference on their rivals.

In order to do this, the first team which they will have to overcome is that of Aston Villa.

The clash is set to take place on Wednesday the 3rd of April and could be yet another season-defining moment for the club.

As, on paper, from their next three top flight games, the Villans are their hardest opponents.

If Unai Emery’s men can somehow manage to triumph over both the Gunners and the Cityzens, they themselves could even be in the title race.

City’s next game will come against Crystal Palace, which, as aforementioned, should be a stroll in the park for Guardiola’s men due to the sheer amount of quality which they possess.

Lastly, they will face Luton.

Although Rob Edwards’ men are likely to put up a strong fight throughout the tie, City should overcome the Hatters fairly easily.

Especially when the clubs’ recent form is taken into account.

Which team has the ‘nicest’ next few games?

Although, somewhat surprisingly, the three clubs are facing similar opponents over the next couple of weeks, it feels as if Liverpool have the best run-in.

Despite having to face Manchester United, the fact that they will be motivated to avenge their prior loss gives them an upper-hand.

When other games such as European ties are also taken into account, Liverpool facing Atalanta in the Europa League compared to both City and Arsenal playing Bayern Munich and Real Madrid respectively, this further adds to the Reds’ easier run.

If everything aligns as it should, there is no reason why there should be any changes to the top flight table over the next couple of weeks.
