Tottenham fans are fuming with chairman Daniel Levy after their latest transfer blow, and Simon Jordan believes that his only option left to appease them would be to sell up.
Tottenham are entering a new era under former Brentford boss Frank, and they started the domestic season well last weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over Premier League new boys Burnley.
Their supporters will have been hopeful of success off the pitch this summer after their recent Europa League glory, but they have missed out some big-name targets so far, and the latest blunder has been the biggest of them all.
Morgan Gibbs-White chose not to join Spurs last month as he signed a new contract at Nottingham Forest, but Tottenham soon looked set to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace instead to solve their attacking midfield concerns after James Maddison’s serious injury.
Despite that deal being close to completion, Eze is now on his way to arch-rivals Arsenal, and Spurs have been left scrambling to sign another key player after a summer of strife, with fans now incensed at Levy and his shortfalls.

Tottenham have failed to sign a number of top targets under Levy’s stewardship over the years, and fans have grown tired of their constant failures in the market, with a number of those players instead going to join other top Premier League sides.
This latest saga surrounding Eze could be the most bitter of them all for Spurs supporters, considering he is instead set to join Arsenal, and they have been voicing their opposition to Levy online since the news broke of the Gunners’ hijack.

Speaking live on talkSPORT on Thursday (21 August), former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan admitted that Levy does not have the money available to take the club to where fans want it to be, and so the only option that he may have to subdue their anger is to sell the club.
He said: “There is a large section of the Tottenham fanbase that don’t think that Daniel has the wherewithal to get Tottenham where they think they are entitled to be.
The fact is that Daniel may well have great wealth attached to Tottenham Hotspur if Tottenham Hotspur is sold, but economically Daniel doesn’t have great capital wealth to be able to propel Tottenham forward.
“Joe Lewis and the Joe Lewis Family Trust have no intention of funding Tottenham anymore, so the only alternative is that Daniel sells the football club to someone that’s going to have more cash available to do what the Tottenham fans think they’re entitled to have, which is a winning side, and there’s nothing wrong with that expectation because they’re a big football club.
He went on to say: “The stadium was built to be able to create better opportunities, there’s no doubt that Tottenham have been active in the transfer market.
They can make all the accusations that they want, Tottenham spent a lot of money last year, they spent a lot money the year before, they are spending money in the transfer market.”
“They’ll (the fans) turn around and question who they’re buying and say ‘these are typical Levy transactions’ because they’ve done in a certain way which means we can get certain players but they’re not the quality that we need.
So they spend the money, they don’t like what they spend the money on, and then when they don’t get deals done they’ve decided that the only reason in the room, the only possible reason, is Levy.
“Now, if indeed the accusations are founded and seeded in fact, which is that the only reason Eberechi Eze didn’t sign for Tottenham Hotspur is because Tottenham Hotspur prevaricated, ponced about and didn’t want to do the deal that Palace wanted done to get him across the line, then perhaps some of these fans have the right to say it… I’m not sure it’s black and white as that.”
Levy has been a divisive figure in North London for a long time since he took over as Spurs’ chairman from Lord Alan Sugar in 2001, with a 24-year reign that makes him the longest-serving in his post in the English top-flight.
Despite their recent success on the pitch, Levy is believed to be looking to sell Tottenham soon, yet no concrete reports have emerged over potential buyers being interested in acquiring the club recently.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley recently revealed to Football Insider that Tottenham can spend hundreds of millions and still be PSR compliant, but they have once again hardly spent much at all this summer so far compared to other top sides, with Mohammed Kudus their only real big-money capture.
Spurs are now targeting other attacking midfielders after missing out on Eze, but it feels like anger at Levy has now crossed past a point of no return, and he needs to leave and let all parties move on if an interested consortium does come in looking to buy the club, which will surely happen soon if he publicly signals his intent to sell.
