The reasons why Liverpool might prefer Jadon Sancho over Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is the next big thing.

He's scored left, right and centre despite being just 20 years old and the belief is that he's one of the few in line to dominate the Ballon d'Or podium for the next decade.

However, his rise in prominence has resulted in many forgetting about his teammate, Jadon Sancho.

Sancho is very much in the mould of the attackers that Liverpool have purchased under Klopp: he isn't valued as high at the moment and, unlike Haaland, he also ticks the homegrown box which can be beneficial from a squad-building standpoint.

Sancho is more positionally versatile than Haaland, having been deployed on the left and the right as well as occasionally through the middle for BVB, compared to the strict role of his team-mate as a striker.

The versatile forwards that Klopp has brought to Anfield allow Liverpool to use different shapes and interchange in the final third, and the Reds essentially become less predictable because of their unconventional front line.

But if the club do choose to make a move, Sancho is quietly beginning to look like an underrated and shrewd option.
