Hugo Ekitike has been consistently linked with a Liverpool switch ever since the summer transfer window opened up.
Other Premier League clubs, such as Chelsea, have also been linked with a move for the former PSG man, but with Ekitike’s price tag currently sitting at around £85million, it feels like a lot of money for a team to put up.
The former of the two has now found a new home at Chelsea, with Osimhen now also on the cusp of sealing a return to Galatasaray.

“There is movement on Hugo Ekitike, with interest from Saudi, but the priority of the player remains England,” he said.
“And with Newcastle interested in Hugo Ekitike, there is still interest also from more clubs.

If Frankfurt didn’t want such an extortionate fee for Ekitike, he’d likely be a smart move for Liverpool.

However, since the 2024-25 campaign is the first time he’s managed to net over 10 goals in his career, he still feels like too much of a project for Liverpool to take on, especially since they need a guaranteed goalscorer.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Liverpool and Ekitike, but on paper, it feels like a massive risk for the Reds to take, especially since they’ve already spent £116million on Florian Wirtz.
