West Ham should expect backlash from selling one major player as the club continue to dwell on their poor transfer window so far.
After West Ham sold Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham early on in the transfer window, many Irons fans were expecting significant funds to be reinvested back into an underperforming squad.
However, the board have struggled to bring in the necessary firepower to turn their poor 2024-25 finish around in the new season.
West Ham signed Mads Hermansen from Leicester yet many West Ham fans have been disappointed by Hermansen.
The club has seen a variety of outgoings, although the east London club will be keen to hold on to some vital squad players with a matter of days to go of the transfer window.

Speaking on talkSPORT (27 August) the day after the Irons 3-2 loss to Wolves in the EFL Cup, former Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy and ex-Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan were discussing the Hammers poor start to the campaign.
The side remain winless in three with pressure mounting on Graham Potter and the ownership over their poor transfer business this summer.

One name who was mentioned as a potential departure was Tomas Soucek, who has been a dependable player for the claret and blue.
The former Liverpool midfielder highlighted the importance of the Czech and why is old manager is trying to bring him to Everton, Murphy said: “You’ve got Soucek, one of the best players you can have for set plays attacking wise… that’s why [David] Moyesy is trying to get him at Everton.”
Jordan then countered his co-presenter’s point by playing devil’s advocate, stating: “Weren’t the West Ham fans about 18 months ago telling everyone that Soucek’s legs had gone?”
To which Murphy replied: “They have.”
As the former Palace chairman hit back saying: “And now he’s a hero to them.
If West Ham were to sell him, there would be outrage.
“If West Ham were to sell him to Everton there would be outrage because they’ll take any opportunity [to criticise the ownership].”

Considering Moyes is a big fan of strong, tall and imposing midfielders such as Marouane Fellaini, the 30-year-old was sensational under the Scotsman at the London Stadium.
A constant threat on set-pieces as a main target, the ex-Slavia Prague sensation frequently notched goals, working superbly in the current Everton manager’s pragmatic system.
Looking at the Toffees squad, they are seriously lacking a physical presence in the middle of the park with Tim Iroegbunam and Idrissa Gueye currently tasked with protecting the defence.

A combination of Soucek and the Senegalese could vastly improve their defensive acumen as well as offering an alternative threat from set-pieces.
Furthermore, the Hammers’ number 28 has two years left on his contract, suggesting the blue half of Merseyside could pick him up for a reasonable price.
Given he is rooted to Potter’s bench, the Czech should definitely consider leaving London in search of a reunion with his former coach.
