Everton are plotting a move to sign Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that David Moyes is a big fan of the 28-year-old.
A new midfielder has been near the top of the Toffees’ radar all summer as they continue to assess a number of options to strengthen their squad.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 4 August that Bissouma is “likely” to leave Tottenham before the window closes on 1 September.
Moyes’ side are believed to have been put on alert by the Mali international’s potential availability, but are still considering multiple targets as things stand.
Brown told Football Insider on 19 August that Everton want to sign Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney and have been joined by Crystal Palace in their pursuit.

Brown told Football Insider in March that Tottenham will accept offers for Bissouma in the summer and are working on a deal to replace the midfielder.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United and worked closely with Moyes at West Ham, insisted that Everton have now joined top clubs in the race for his signature.
“Yves Bissouma would be a good signing for Everton,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s a player Moyesy likes so I have no doubt he’s on their radar, especially if Tottenham are planning to listen to offers for him.
“I saw him play for Brighton against Wolves a couple of years ago and he didn’t put a foot wrong, he was brilliant and it was a really impressive performance.
“I don’t think he’s shown that since he’s been at Tottenham to be honest.

“Maybe the set-up there doesn’t work for him, I don’t know what it is.
“But a move somewhere like Everton might be what gets the best out of him, playing under David Moyes in more of a structured system.
“I think Tottenham have been open to letting him go, so if Everton are interested then there will be a deal to be done.
“They’re not the only side interested in him, but he’s also not the only player they’ve been looking at.
“If they decide he’s the one they want, it’s a deal that could work out for everybody.”
Alongside the addition of a new midfielder, the Toffees have set their sights on Norwich City’s Kellen Fisher to resolve their issues at right-back.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 9 August that Everton are interested in signing Fisher, who can also play at left-back and in central midfield.

The young defender has been capped three times for England’s Under-20 side and came off the bench in the closing stages of Norwich’s opening day 2-1 loss to Millwall.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Nottingham Forest have joined the race for Fisher as they aim to bolster at right-back before the window closes.
