Saudi Arabia are expected to flex their financial muscle once again this summer, and Liverpool could stand to benefit financially.

It’s been two years since the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho swapped Merseyside for the Middle East as Saudi Arabia look to become the next major destination for the world’s best players, with the project taking longer than expected to fully take off.

Yet that hasn’t put clubs off from trying to make big signings in the market, with Mohamed Salah still an option for Saudi Arabia as Virgil van Dijk has also emerged as a target for some clubs in the Middle East.

And it appears that another top Liverpool player is now on the radar for clubs in Saudi Arabia heading into the summer.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano shared that Luis Diaz has become the latest subject of interest to Saudi Arabian clubs, with the Liverpool winger expected to be targeted in the summer.

The Italian journalist said: “From Saudi, they were interested in Luis Diaz in January.

The player decided to stay at Liverpool and focus on Liverpool’s season, but now the Saudi clubs are still there, so keep an eye on Luis Diaz.

“Because again we say it’s gonna be a busy summer for Liverpool with many things to decide.

Luis Diaz will now have to make a decision on what he wants to do in the summer, because from Saudi, they will try again.

“They are interested and they want Luis Diaz, so let’s see what the player decides to do – stay at Liverpool, maybe go to another European club, or maybe consider an opportunity in Saudi Arabia in this case.”

Diaz has been linked with a move away from Liverpool for quite some time leading into the summer transfer window, with the Colombian international seemingly open to an exit despite enjoying his best year yet in the Premier League.

Alan Shearer has lauded Diaz as ‘sensational’ this season, and the winger’s form has now seen the likes of FC Barcelona emerge from the shadows as potential suitors for the former FC Porto man, who could well leave this summer.

Indeed, a mega offer from Saudi Arabia will be tempting from Liverpool given that Diaz looks ready to leave Anfield, and with the attack in need of some new additions, the money received could go a long way in Arne Slot building the front-line of his dreams.
