Liverpool have been doing yet more good work to bolster their underage sides during the summer transfer window.
The Reds have become well-known for scouring Europe and picking up some major talents to add to their academy in recent years.
While most of that has focused on recruitment from within England and Scotland, Liverpool looked further afield this time, signing promising Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi.
But after last year brought arrivals for Rio Ngumoha and Alvin Ayman, and 2024 was the turn of Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo, there have been rumours that Liverpool could be about to pluck some more British talent this time.
Rumours have centred around Blackpool teenager Gabriel Schluter, who has already made his senior debut for the Tangerines aged just 16.
And after claims emerged that Schluter was set for a medical ahead of a move to the Liverpool academy, journalist James Pearce has spoken out to clarify the situation.

Schluter will have been a brand new name for many Liverpool fans to learn over recent days.
Unless you are plugged into academy football across the country, he is unlikely to have come onto the radar.
Nevertheless, then Blackpool boss Richard Keogh called Schluter ‘excellent‘ following his first team debut in November, when the winger was just 15.
He is clearly one to watch.

And according to Pearce, Schluter has indeed come onto Liverpool’s radar this summer.
However, taking to X on Friday evening, the reporter rubbished claims that the 16-year-old is close to joining the Premier League champions.
“Liverpool looked at Blackpool teenager Gabriel Schluter and admire him, but told suggestions that a deal to buy him is either done or even close to being done is wide of the mark,” says Pearce.
Given the strength of Pearce’s post on the matter, it now seems unlikely that Liverpool will be signing Schluter this summer.
Nevertheless, he may be one to keep an eye on in the future.
At 16, the winger is poised to be a part of Steve Bruce’s squad in League One next season and could be set for a breakout year.
In terms of profile, Schluter is a right-footed left winger very much in the mould of recent Reds signing Ngumoha.
Should the teenage sensation continue making waves in Lancashire, expect Liverpool to be well informed over a potential move.
