Arne Slot looks as though he will be Liverpool’s next manager.
This one has been reported as a done deal, and it looks as though an announcement could come very soon.
This will mark the dawning of a new era for Liverpool, and apparently, a new transfer strategy will also come into effect under Slot.
Indeed, according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Liverpool’s transfer strategy will now pivot towards signing players who are said to be ‘manager-proof’ meaning that the Reds will focus on signing quality players rather than players who are suited to Slot’s style.

Jones shared what he’s heard about the Reds’ transfer plans.
“What they will do with their transfer strategy is they won’t build the team for Slot, it will kind of be manager-proof.
So they will sign players who will be suited for anybody because they are good enough for anybody, right,” Jones said.
This is very intriguing to hear, because, in our view, there aren’t many players in world football who could be considered ‘manager-proof’.

Even some of the greatest players of all-time have struggled under certain coaches – in fact, one of Liverpool’s best players, Mohamed Salah, has suffered under certain coaches, Jose Mourinho to be precise.
The same can be said of other great players and other great managers, and there’s an argument to be made that there’s no such thing as a ‘manager-proof’ player.
Even Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably the best player of all-time, couldn’t get going under Erik ten Hag, so Liverpool are being very ambitious if they think they can just sign players who can work under any manager.
The Reds need to tread very carefully if this is indeed their plan, because it could seriously backfire.
