Thomas Tuchel has hinted he would like to make a return to the Premier League this summer.

The former Chelsea boss is set to be looking for a new job at the end of the season.

Asked whether he could return to the Premier League, Tuchel replied: “I’d rather not answer but it is no secret that I loved it at Chelsea, I loved it in England.

"I loved it in the Premier League for sure, it was a very, very special time and I remember it very well.”

Jamie Carragher has notably stated he would have liked to see Tuchel considered for the Liverpool role, and his latest hint on returning to the Premier League suggest he might well have been keen if approached.

“I would have given more thorough consideration to a coach like Thomas Tuchel, who took on and beat Pep Guardiola in the ultimate test - a Champions League final,” Carragher wrote in the Telegraph last month.

"Tuchel followed Klopp at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund and did well.

It has not worked out at Bayern Munich this season, but you only have to look at Carlo Ancelotti and Unai Emery to recognise how top coaches recover from setbacks."

Liverpool.com says: Liverpool already looks as though it has its man in Arne Slot, but Tuchel was perhaps a name that should have been more in the running.

He’s had success at his previous clubs, including winning the Champions League with Chelsea, and he’s had experience of following a highly influential manager, having taken over from Klopp at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.

The fact that he’s keen on a return to the Premier League might have made bringing him to Anfield a relatively simple task as well.
