Arne Slot will need to make changes at Liverpool if he is appointed as the club’s next manager.

Wednesday night pretty much all but ended Liverpool’s hopes of winning the Premier League title this season.

A defeat at Goodison Park for the first time in over a decade is not how Liverpool will have wanted to bow out of the title race.

It’s a horrible and bitter ending to a season that offered so much promise, even just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, though April has seen the Reds completely collapse.

It’s been proof that Liverpool need changes around Anfield, and Arne Slot could be the man to instil new ideas.

Why Arne Slot needs to change Liverpool’s approach

Jurgen Klopp seems to have run out of ideas in his final few years at Liverpool. Last season was proof of that and the last few weeks are just a confirmation.

Klopp has been brilliant for so many years, but we cannot deny Liverpool have ran out of gas towards the end of his time at the club.

What the Reds need now is a manager with fresh ideas and a new approach. Slot needs to think a little bit differently to Klopp and come up with new ideas that do not leave the Reds open and vulnerable.

This was very much evident in the defeat to Everton. Liverpool looked completely lost on the pitch.

Why Slot needs to improve Liverpool’s attack

One of the key elements that Slot needs to change at Liverpool, which became blatantly obvious last night is the Reds’ attack.

Slot needs to find a way for Liverpool’s attack to be more clinical in front of goal. He needs to set-up a system where Liverpool’s attackers are much better at converting chances.

He also needs to instil a little bit of confidence in some of the club’s attackers, who seem devoid of it at the moment.

This will be his most difficult task, but it’s one that he has to get right in order to make Liverpool competitive again.

Making changes in the Liverpool squad

After Everton, it’s becoming obvious that Liverpool also need a major reshuffling in the playing squad again.

There are some players who are nearing the end of their shelf life at the club. Andy Robertson, for example, has looked miles off the pace, and Liverpool should definitely be searching for his future replacement.

There are others in the squad as well who Slot could think about upgrading. He will need to bring in new players to revive the squad and continue the rebuild Klopp started last summer.
