And, ahead of the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday, Sherwood shared his thoughts on Salah and why he’s happy that he chose to stay at Liverpool this season.
“He’s [Salah] an amazing player,” he said live on Sky Sports.
“[His] consistency, level of performance and numbers what he churns in year in and year out, his assists, his goals, it’s just a pleasure to have him in the Premier League.
“He seems like such a wonderful boy as well, great lad, [I was] sort of so pleased when he decided to stay at Liverpool for a couple more years.“
Salah may have contributed to a few goals this season, but it still feels like he’s miles off the pace compared to his form in previous seasons.
Indeed, players of a higher quality, such as Alexander Isak and Ekitike, have been brought in this term, so that could have something to do with it, but since Liverpool are likely paying Salah around £400,000 per week, they’ll be expecting him to be their best-performing player.
