Timo Werner has expressed his frustrations at Chelsea's draw with Southampton after he had put them into a commanding lead at Stamford Bridge.

Posting on Instagram after the game, Werner wrote: "What a disappointment for us to not win this game today," followed by two emojis accentuating his bemusement.

How many goals will Werner score in the Premier League this season?

But it wasn't to be Chelsea's day as Vestergaard provided the finishing touch to Theo Walcott's strike across goal to snatch a point for Southampton and leave Werner wondering what more he could have done.

The £53million summer signing got his first Premier League goals for the Blues on Saturday, opening the scoring after 15 minutes and doubling his tally before the half hour.

Adams ran on to the loose ball, skipping round Kepa before eventually smashing the ball into the roof of the net at the second attempt.

But despite Chelsea looking in cruise control, Saints' striker Danny Ings halved the deficit close to half-time, before Che Adams levelled the scoring not long after the break.
