Newcastle teammates responded to Harvey Barnes’ heartfelt message on social media with his future at the club remaining uncertain.

Barnes had worked his way back into Eddie Howe’s plans towards the back end of last season, starting the final 11 games of the campaign and showing signs of consistency.

However, since joining the club in 2023, the winger has largely played a supporting role, with Anthony Gordon often preferred on the left flank.

Amid his inconsistent game time, Football Insider revealed that Newcastle are open to offers for Barnes this summer, particularly following the arrival of Anthony Elanga earlier in the window.

It was also reported back in May that Barnes himself would be open to a move away from St James’ Park in search of more regular first-team football.

Now, as speculation continues to build, the 27-year-old shared a message with fans on social media, prompting a wave of responses from his Newcastle teammates.

Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, Barnes has continued to feature under Howe in pre-season, and even got on the scoresheet in Newcastle’s most recent friendly against Tottenham.

As the club’s Asia tour wrapped up, the winger took to Instagram to thank fans, writing: “Loved your support Seoul.

Thank you.”

Several of his teammates showed their support, with Tino Livramento and Bruno Guimaraes liking the post, while Anthony Gordon reacted with fire and applause emojis in the comments.

Although there’s clear camaraderie within the squad, the possibility of an exit remains.

Football Insider revealed Aston Villa are exploring a move for Barnes as an alternative to Marcus Rashford this summer, after deciding against pursuing a permanent deal for the England international.

Despite a strong end to the campaign, Barnes made just 17 starts last season, but still managed to contribute 14 goals and assists in all competitions.

While Newcastle may be open to offers for Barnes, their stance on Livramento is far less flexible.

Football Insider revealed Manchester City are considering stepping up their pursuit of Livramento, identifying him as a potential long-term successor to Kyle Walker.

However, it was also reported that Newcastle are doing all they can to keep Livramento at St James’ Park.

The club have no intention of selling, and with the full-back tied to a long-term deal and Newcastle in a strong financial position, they remain confident of keeping hold of him this summer.
