Liverpool head coach Arne Slot believes winning the Premier League and the celebrations which accompanied it will boost their transfer opportunities.

Sunday's 5-1 win over Tottenham secured a record-equalling 20th title – and the first in 35 years which could be celebrated by fans, as the 2020 triumph came under Covid restrictions.

"The main advantage of winning the league is, until now if I spoke to players I wanted to bring in I always told them our fans are really special and it’s special to play at this club," he said.

"That was maybe not even necessary to tell them in the past but after Sunday I don’t think I ever have to tell anyone again how special our fans are because that was unbelievable.



What most of them said, 'Congratulations, now you know how special a club it is, now you are part of history as well’," Slot added.

Another benefit of winning the league with four matches to go means Slot can afford to give fringe players opportunities.

"Some of them deserve to play already because they have trained so well, they are good enough to play for this club, but I mainly chose the same players.
