Liverpool’s mammoth move to sign Alexander Isak is taking centre-stage on a busy transfer deadline day.

The Reds look set to get their way and sign Isak for a record-breaking £125m on Monday.

There are some other things still in the pipeline, though, with fresh hope that Liverpool could sign Marc Guehi arriving in the morning.

Beyond the two major incomings, though, there are a number of outgoing deals which could still happen at Anfield as well.

Joe Gomez and Harvey Elliott could leave, but there are also several Liverpool academy players who should really be looking to head out on loan.

One of the higher profile of these is Jayden Danns, who has had a torrid year or so with injury.

And as rumours around Guehi, Elliott and Gomez continue to swirl, journalist James Pearce has stepped in to provide an update on what is going on with Danns and some of his fellow youngsters.

In a parallel universe, Liverpool would not need to be signing Isak, as Danns is already up to speed as first team option.

Unfortunately, back in the real world, injuries have hampered the 19-year-old’s progress to the point where many do not regard him as a viable player for Arne Slot.

Nevertheless, Pearce took to The Athletic on Monday to report that Danns will in fact be sticking around until at least the January window.

As will Stefan Bajcetic, Luke Chambers and Calum Scanlon who are all recovering from fitness problems.

“Young Liverpool striker Jayden Danns won’t be going anywhere today,” says Pearce.

“The 19-year-old academy graduate has been attracting plenty of interest regarding a possible loan deal.

“Liverpool are managing his fitness carefully, however, following his recovery from injury and intend to keep him on board.

They will reassess the situation ahead of the winter transfer window.

“Youngsters Stefan Bajcetic, Calum Scanlon and Luke Chambers will also stay at Liverpool on deadline day as they recover from injuries.”

Although Danns staying is generally good news, it would have been nice to see him get a chance to play regularly in a senior environment.

Nevertheless, the right call has probably been made as the striker looks to put his fitness worries behind him.

According to Pearce, though, other players from the Liverpool academy could leave, with Kaide Gordon and Rhys Williams potentially on the move.

“Kaide Gordon could go out on loan with Blackpool among his suitors,” he says.

“Rhys Williams is also hoping to secure a move having entered the final year of his contract.”
