England striker Ivan Toney celebrated his first trophy with Al-Ahli as the Saudi Arabian club won the Asian Champions League for the first time.
Al-Ahli beat Japan's Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 on Saturday to become the third Saudi club to win the competition, after Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad.
Striker Toney, 29, joined Al-Ahli from Brentford for about £40m last summer, having made three appearances for England at Euro 2024.
Al-Ahli's expensively assembled squad also features former Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez and former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, who both won the Uefa Champions League while with those respective Premier League clubs.
Firmino was named the AFC Champions League's most valuable player after scoring six goals in this season's competition and playing a key role in the final.
He set up both Al-Ahli goals, teeing up fellow Brazilian Galeno for his stunning 35th-minute opener before crossing for Franck Kessie to head in seven minutes later.
Six years after he lifted the European trophy, Firmino, who left Liverpool in 2023, said: "This title win shows us to have a monster mentality.
We always believed we could be champions and we have done it."
He added: "I'm very happy and very proud of the team.
Happy to make history here and able to repay the support of the club, family and friends."
Al-Ahli had previously finished as runners-up in the competition in 1986 and 2012.
Toney was prevented from adding to his six goals in the competition by Kawasaki goalkeeper Louis Yamaguchi inside the opening five minutes.
He has scored 26 goals and contributed five assists in 39 games in a productive first season with Al-Ahli.
Al-Ahli were relegated from the Saudi Pro League three years ago but were one of the Saudi Arabian clubs taken over by the country's Public Investment Fund (PIF) - which also owns Newcastle United - in 2023.
They celebrated their victory in front of 58,000 home fans at Jeddah's King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
Al-Ahli's former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy said: "Once we knew the final eight would be played in Jeddah it was our goal to be champions in front of our fans.
Since I came here 18 months ago they have supported us so much.
"As I said when I signed here, it's to make history, to continue to win trophies and make this club as big as it was before."
