New Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank paid a touching tribute to Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva on Friday after the duo were killed in a car crash earlier this month.

The 28-year-old and his brother, Silva, 25, were killed in a road traffic accident while travelling across Spain in the early hours of July 3.

Since the pair's passing more than two weeks ago, tributes have been paid to the duo from across the world.



And on Friday, ahead of addressing the media for the first time as the manager of Tottenham, Frank sent his condolences to the friends and family of the brothers following their deaths.

Speaking at Hotspur Way, Frank said: "On behalf of everyone at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, our condolences go to the family and the loved ones of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva and everyone at Liverpool Football Club."

Jota scored 65 goals in 182 appearances for Liverpool after joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in September 2020.

During his time at Anfield, the Portugal international won the FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield and Premier League.

On Thursday night, Jota's former club, Wolves, announced that they had introduced the forward into the club's Hall of Fame.

"Diogo Jota has been inducted into the Wolves Hall of Fame, in a tribute that honours both his remarkable achievements for the club and the deep impact his passing has had on the footballing world," said a statement released by the West Midlands outfit on Thursday night.

"The Hall of Fame, which is run independently by a committee chaired by Wolves legend John Richards, has moved swiftly to make this rare and heartfelt decision, following the tragic and untimely death of Diogo and his younger brother Andre."
