Tottenham fans are convinced Eberechi Eze has already waved goodbye to Crystal Palace after footage emerged of him at full-time against Chelsea.
Tottenham have enjoyed a busy summer under Thomas Frank, who has overseen a major overhaul in his first transfer window as head coach.
Big-name arrivals such as Mohamed Kudus and Joao Palhinha have strengthened the squad, while Spurs are also in talks to secure Savinho as they continue to bolster their attacking options.
Meanwhile, the need for another creative midfielder has grown after James Maddison was sidelined with an ACL injury, pushing Spurs back into the market for reinforcements, and towards a familiar target.
Football Insider revealed that Tottenham are now leading the race for Eze, despite long-standing interest from North London rivals Arsenal.
And with speculation intensifying, fans are convinced a deal is close after footage appeared to show the Palace star bidding farewell to supporters.

Despite ongoing talks over a move to Tottenham, Eze was still in action for Crystal Palace at the weekend as they battled to a goalless draw with Chelsea.

He thought he had opened the scoring, only for Eze’s strike to be controversially ruled out.
The effort was disallowed after it was deemed an indirect free-kick, with captain Marc Guehi standing within a metre of the Chelsea wall at the time.
After the final whistle, footage circulated of Eze placing his hands on his chest before putting them together towards the Palace fans — a gesture that many Tottenham supporters have interpreted as a farewell.
Things have seemingly moved fast as Football Insider revealed on 18 August that Spurs are closing in on a move for Eze, with fresh talks between the clubs taking place as negotiations progress.
He has already written himself into Palace’s history books, scoring the decisive goal in their FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May, and it seems as if his chapter in South London is coming to an end.
Crystal Palace had originally held firm on a valuation close to Eze’s £68million release clause, but it is understood Tottenham remain confident of agreeing a fee below that figure.
While no deal has yet been finalised, Spurs fans are convinced an announcement could be imminent after the his emotional full-time gestures at Stamford Bridge.
One fan reacted: “I really hope this was his goodbye” while another added: “He’s coming home.
