Nicolas Jackson could find refuge at Tottenham if Thomas Frank manages to get rid of the stumbling Richarlison ahead of the new season.

After being left out of Chelsea‘s pre-season squad against Bayer Leverkusen it appears the Senegalese’s future looks to be up at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues made their intentions clear of reinforcing the striker position by bringing in Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich.

This bit of business has alienated Jackson who now looks more than certain to part ways with the club after just two seasons at the club.

The Telegraph (7 August) reported that the Lilywhites could go for the number 15 provided they could ship off the deadwood of Richarlison, presenting an intriguing possibility for the club, amid rival interest from Newcastle.

One thing I’ve struggled to understand whilst watching the ex-Villareal forward is the unrelenting hate he receives despite posting solid outputs.

The forward has never dropped below 13 goals in one season for the west London side with the natural dislike coming from his tendency to score goals in purple patches rather than across the season, and some guilt-edged misses.

Yet, the Senegalese wields pace, strength, an instinct for the back-of-the-net and would suit any side that plays with pace on the attack.

Under Enzo Maresca, their slow build-up play tended to stunt his true goal potential, opting to slow down ball progression instead of playing him through on goal.

Considering the prospect of the six-foot-one striker playing in the Spurs colours does have me intrigued, especially due to our current issue with strikers.

Whilst the Brazilian is adored by Lilywhites fans, o pombo has never had the faculties nor fitness to build a wonderful dynasty up front for the north London side.

Additionally, with Dominic Solanke currently nursing a minor injury, I wouldn’t have confidence in starting the South American up top at the start of the season.

Selling the 28-year-old would be able to partially fund a move for Jackson and I do think the Senegalese would settle in nicely under Frank.

Playing in a faster transitioning side that would play to his attacking strengths, the 24-year-old would have the tools to thrive.

If we landed a season long loan of Jack Grealish from Man City then we would be even more in the money, providing the number 15 with more chances in the wake of James Maddison andd Dejan Kulusevski’s injuries.

The price tag is my only concern with the Blues wanting between £80-100million for his services (Sky Sports), could you maybe fork out a bit more cash Daniel Levy?
