Tottenham host Villarreal in the Champions League with history beckoning for one player.
Villarreal travel to north London after Spurs beat West Ham 3-0 in their last Premier League outing, which included a debut for summer arrival Xavi Simons.
Thomas Frank has made a positive start with Spurs’ 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth, the only loss the Dane has suffered so far.
After Spurs won the Europa League last season with victory over Manchester United, they return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2022-23 campaign.

Randal Kolo Muani joined Spurs from PSG on loan on deadline day and was an unused substitute in the win at West Ham.
If the Frenchman though makes an appearance against Villarreal, then he could make current Champions League history.
As per BBC Sport [15 September], Muani has already played for Eintracht Frankfurt, PSG and Juventus in the Champions League since the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

The match will also be Frank’s first in the Champions League as a manager, and there is optimism that they could do well in the league stages.
Villarreal at home is a relatively kind start to the Champions League for the manager, where three points could keep Spurs’ momentum going.
It could be a first chance to look at Muani and what he could bring to the side either as a central striker or down the left flank.
