Tottenham have been tipped to raid one of their fellow Premier League sides and make a statement signing before the transfer window closes.

The North London club have a new manager at the helm this season, after Thomas Frank replaced the outgoing Ange Postecoglou.

So far this summer, Spurs have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, but have done very little else in the transfer market.

However, Tottenham are now heavily linked with Manchester City’s Savinho, with the two clubs in negotiations over a deal.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the Brazilian winger will end the window as a Spurs player.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Savinho is a real talent, and would therefore Man City will want a “good price” for any potential deal to be completed.

Tottenham have reportedly offered £43million for the 21-year-old, with City expected to demand upwards of £50m.

Wyness added that he expects Savinho’s move to Spurs to be completed before the end of the window.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “He was decent last season, there’s no doubt about it, but I think this is all part of Pep saying he wants a smaller squad.

“He’s enlarged it and now he’s got to do some more pruning to get it back down again, and Savino is one of those who could go.

“He’ll command a very good price.

I think he’s a big talent, and he would suit Spurs very well.

I expect that one to get done.

“I think it’s a case of Pep realising that he’s got an embarrassment of riches and they’re going to have to let some quality players go.

So it’ll be up to other clubs to pick those up.”

Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Tottenham are likely to have earned around £10m from their pre-season tour of Asia.

Spurs faced Arsenal in the first north London derby to be played outside of the UK in the newly opened Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on 31 July.

Frank’s side secured a 1-0 victory over the Gunners, with Pape Matar Sarr scoring the only goal of the game.

Tottenham then headed to South Korea to face Newcastle United, where they drew 1-1 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on 3 August.
