Tottenham have learned of PSG’s demands over a deal for star striker Randal Kolo Muani ahead of the transfer deadline.

Dominic Solanke’s injury at Tottenham is more serious than first thought, possibly needing surgery on his ankle over the coming days, leaving Richarlison as the only centre-forward option.

While the Brazilian has hit the ground running so far this season, netting twice against Burnley and assisting against Man City, he was heavily linked with an exit over the entire summer window.

It is apparent that fans were expecting an upgrade to be signed before the transfer window slammed shut at 7pm, and that could come in the shape of PSG‘s Kolo Muani, who spent last season on loan at Juventus.

The Frenchman notched 10 goals and three assists in 22 appearances for the Serie A giants, but he could now be set for a move to the Premier League as Spurs ramp up interest in his signature.

Taking to X (1 September), Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Tottenham make contact to explore Randal Kolo Muani deal conditions after interest revealed overnight.

“Spurs are informed that Muani is available, and it is a serious interest, but it depends on on fee and numbers, as PSG want an obligation to buy guaranteed.”

Newcastle United had opened talks for Kolo Muani earlier in the window, but a move to North London could now see him feature in the Premier League this season.

Thomas Frank’s side sit fourth in the Premier League table after four matches, and that is no coincidence following the cut-throat decision to sack Ange Postecoglou.

Despite a frustrating defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, 30 August, wins over Burnley and Pep Guardiola’s Man City have seen them shoot up the rankings.

Deals for Joao Palhinha, Mohammed Kudus, and Mathys Tel have already had major impacts on the squad, and the Lilywhites still have Xavi Simons to welcome before the next game.

Simons was unable to face the Cherries due to the lateness of his deal being agreed, 22 goals and 22 assists in 78 appearances for RB Leipzig, Frank has a special player on his hands.

The Dutchman should add a new dynamic to Spurs’ attack, but with Solanke now possibly on the sidelines for longer than anticipated, another striker could be vital for success before the window closes.

Frank’s side are not just battling in the Premier League, but also have Champions League football to consider, and Richarlison’s injury record is unlikely to fill anyone with confidence.
