Carlos Baleba wants to move to Man United this summer and hopes they can agree terms with Brighton, according to their former chief scout.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 12 August that Man United are pushing to sign Baleba as part of an ambitious plan late in the window.

Brighton are extremely reluctant to sell their star man this summer having already lost Joao Pedro and Pervis Estupinan, while interest in other stars has lingered.
Brown told Football Insider on 28 June that Fabian Hurzeler is concerned about Brighton’s sales as a number of players have admitted to being open to leaving.

Brown told Football Insider in April that Liverpool were interested in signing Baleba but had reservations about paying his £100million asking price.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, confessed that a deal may be difficult to agree, but the player is open to moving.
“From what I hear, he wants to make the move,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s got friends in the squad who will have been talking to him about joining.
“I think he’s a tremendous player, he looks like a real top player who can keep improving and get to a really high level.

“If Man United could get a deal over the line, it would be a major plus for them.
“It’s just about whether they can do a deal with Brighton, because understandably they’re not going to want to lose their star player now.
“It won’t be an easy one to do, and I wouldn’t expect him to force through a move.
“But if an agreement can be reached with the clubs, talks with the player should be relatively easy.”
Alongside speculation about incoming deals at Old Trafford, the club are also keen to complete some sales in the closing stages of the window.

Enzo Maresca’s side are currently willing to pay £40million to land the him, while United are holding out for their £50million valuation if they are to sell.
However, Brown told Football Insider on 10 July that United will lower Garnacho’s price tag later in the window if clubs are unable to match the asking price.
