Newcastle 'confident' Isak will pen new deal
Newcastle are reportedly growing ‘increasingly confident’ that Alexander Isak will sign a new contract with the club.
According to Chronicle Live, the Magpies believe that the numbers offered to Sweden international should ‘fend off’ Liverpool, who have shortlisted the striker as one of their top targets.
Newcastle are yet to receive any form of contact from Liverpool at this stage, with Arsenal cooling their interest in Isak at the start of the transfer window.

Chelsea among sides plotting hijack
Earlier this week it emerged that Nottingham Forest had reached an agreement to sign Malick Fofana from Lyon.
However, with the move not agreed with the player, several sides are now looking to hijack the deal.
According to the Independent, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are among those who have made contact with the 20-year-old, who is available for £51.5million.
European giants are also in the picture, including Bayern Munich and Napoli.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with Fofana already this summer and could move to pounce on the opportunity, having now wrapped up their hijack of Newcastle’s top target Joao Pedro.

Arsenal receive Rodrygo encouragement
Arsenal have reportedly been encouraged by Rodrygo’s lack of minutes at the Club World Cup in their pursuit of the winger.
The Mirror report that the Brazilian’s play time in the United States has ‘fuelled belief’ that the Madrid star could be attainable over the coming months.
Arsenal are keen to bolster their ranks with the acquisition of a left-winger, and they are willing to bide their time to see whether Rodrygo could become available.
