Here’s the latest from Simon Collings on Arsenal’s pursuit of Martin Odegaard…

Arsenal are hopeful of wrapping up a loan deal for Real Madrid playmaker Martin Odegaard.

The 22-year-old wants to go out on loan for the second half of the season so he can get more playing time, and Real Madrid have accepted his demands.

Real Sociedad, where Odegaard played last season, are interested in signing him but Arsenal are now growing in confidence that he may join them instead.

The Gunners are in talks with Real Madrid over a loan deal until the end of the season and are hopeful an agreement can be struck.

Arsenal have been on the lookout for an attacking midfielder during the current transfer window to provide competition for Emile Smith Rowe.

At 22, Odegaard is young and hungry to prove himself - which makes him an ideal addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Real Madrid are thought to view the Norwegian as a long-term prospect, though, and as such any deal is unlikely to include the option for Arsenal to make it permanent.

1611307293West Ham monitoring McCarthy situation

It sounds like Moyes is running a little late this morning, so here’s another latest West Ham transfer rumour while we wait.

The Daily Mail claim that the Hammers are one of several clubs interested in a deal for midfielder James McCarthy, who is out of contract at Crystal Palace this summer.

Burnley, Brighton, West Brom and Bournemouth are also said to be watching the situation, along with Celtic.

1611305808Charlton close in on Stockley loan

Lee Bowyer mentioned yesterday that Charlton were hopeful of completing a new signing before tomorrow’s League One contest against struggling Swindon at The Valley.

The player in question would appear to be Preston striker Jayden Stockley, with widespread reports that the Addicks have seen off competition from third-tier rivals Sunderland and Bristol Rovers for a loan deal.

1611304951David Moyes coming up

David Moyes is due to address the media at 9am GMT this morning ahead of West Ham’s FA Cup fourth round clash against Doncaster on Saturday.

The Scot will no doubt be asked for a fresh update on his aformentioned striker search. Stay tuned!

1611302712Bayern Munich confirm Upamecano interest

Bad news for the Premier League clubs wishing to sign RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all among the teams to be linked with the French defender, but now Bayern Munich’s interest has seemingly been confirmed.

Upamecano signed a new contract at Leizpig only last year, but has a £37m release clause that is due to become active in the summer.

“We will of course deal with it, not only with this player, but in principle with all the positions where we want and need to do something,” Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said yesterday.

On a potential agreement, he added: "It's too early for something like that, he's still a Leipzig player at least until the end of the season.

"But it's common knowledge that he has a clause in his contract."

1611300787Tomori to complete AC Milan move today

Fikayo Tomori will be in Italy today to finalise his move to AC Milan.

The Chelsea defender is set to join the Serie A leaders on an initial loan deal - subject to a successful medical - that includes the option for a permanent transfer in the summer.

Per The Telegraph, that option is worth £25m plus a further £5m in add-ons.

1611299689Dele ‘asks Tottenham not to block PSG move’

The Dele Alli to Paris Saint-Germain saga rumbles on.

90min.com are reporting that the England midfielder has begged Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy not to deny him a potential reunion with Mauricio Pochettino in the French capital.

It is also said that PSG’s desire to an insert an option to buy into any loan agreement is proving a barrier to getting a deal done.

Is is reported that PSG want an 18-month loan, whereas Spurs would prefer a shorter, six-month deal that would see Dele definitely return in the summer.

1611299458No Leicester loan for Eriksen

Leicester’s hopes of securing a high-profile deal for ex-Tottenham star Christian Eriksen look to be over already.

According to The Telegraph, the Foxes lodged an enquiry with Inter Milan about the possibility of taking the Dane - said to be keen on a return to the Premier League after a poor spell in Serie A - on loan for the rest of the season.

However, Leicester are said to have quickly baulked at Eriksen’s £300,000-a-week wage packet that Inter seem to want covered in full.

1611299261West Ham plot new King bid

It seems that West Ham will not give up on their hopes of signing striker Josh King.

The Sun reports that the Hammers are now plotting a deal worth £16m for the Norwegian international having previously seen a bid of £13m rebuffed by Bournemouth.

West Ham are desperate to sign a new striker after offloading Sebastien Haller to Ajax, though their pursuits of King, Montpellier’s Gaetan Laborde and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri have thus far proved fruitless.

1611299003Man United and Liverpool eye Musiala

Manchester United and Liverpool are both interested in bringing Bayern Munich starlet Jamal Musiala back to England.

However, they face a significant battle on that front with Sport1 in Germany now reporting that the England Under-21 international, 17, has no intention of leaving Bavaria at this stage.

However, this is definitely a situation to monitor, with Musiala - formerly of Chelsea’s academy - still having yet to agree an extension to a Bayern contract that is due to expire in the summer of 2022.
