Manchester United and Newcastle are in a tense two-horse race and still waiting to find out where mutual striker target Benjamin Sesko's preference lies.

Chelsea are going full steam ahead in the player sales department as they look to make room for Xavi Simons and potentially Alejandro Garnacho too.

Nicolas Jackson exit 'increasingly likely'

The chances of Nicolas Jackson leaving Chelsea this summer are growing, according to The Athletic.

Many clubs in the Premier League and abroad consider Jackson as a viable alternative if they do not land their top striker target.

Manchester United or Newcastle could therefore pursue him, depending on which of them misses out on Benjamin Sesko.

Aston Villa have also been linked with the Senegal international.

Jackson has scored 30 goals in 81 games for Chelsea, who are thought to want at least £80million to sell him.

Newcastle launch £78m Sesko bid

Newcastle United have offered RB Leipzig a £78million package for Benjamin Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The proposal comprises £69.6m up front and a further £8.4m in add-ons.

Sesko is yet to decide on his future, with Manchester United also showing serious interest.

But Newcastle do not want the saga to drag on and will pivot to other targets if Sesko plans to wait for the Red Devils.

Arsenal approach made

Arsenal have received an approach from Stuttgart to discuss the sale of Fabio Vieira, according to The Athletic.

Vieira spent last season on loan at Porto and Mikel Arteta does not consider him part of his first-team plans.

German side Stuttgart are hoping to agree a permanent move for the 25-year-old, who set Arsenal back £34million in 2022.

Liverpool and Chelsea deals close

Liverpool and Chelsea could both seal transfer exits today as Tyler Morton and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall close in on moves to Lyon and Everton respectively.

Morton is in France to put the finishing touches on his £15million exit from Anfield.

And Dewsbury-Hall is expected on Merseyside to carry out his medical before finalising a £29m switch from Stamford Bridge.
