Chelsea and France icon Marcel Desailly has warned Arsenal that he envisages William Saliba playing for Real Madrid one day.

The Gunners are working to tie their defender down on a long-term contract to fend off interest from Madrid, but Desailly thinks that the centre-back will one day head to La Liga.

"One worry for Arsenal fans is that he has had three and will probably have four seasons in the first team," Desailly told Oddspedia.

"This season he will stay there.

But in the future I could see him at Real Madrid with a new lifestyle, Arsenal fans should worry.

"I have to apologise to William Saliba.

In the national team he is number one, even though there are other top defenders.
