Liverpool may have to find a new buyer for Darwin Nunez, with the Uruguay international not keen on a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage in his career.

Liverpool want to sell Nunez in the summer transfer window if they get an offer that meets their valuation of the Uruguayan.

Nunez is Liverpool’s record signing, having joined from Benfica in June 2022 for £85m, made up of £64m plus add-ons, and the club are keen to recoup as much of that as possible.

The club rejected an offer of £60m from Al-Nassr in January, but have now fielded more interest from Saudi Arabia.

Manchester City have completed the signing of Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan for an initial fee of £46.6million.

The arrival of Reijnders takes City's summer spending to £108.6m, following on from the signings of Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves for £31m and Rayan Cherki from Lyon for £31m, as well as goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli for a nominal fee.

Netherlands midfielder Reijnders has signed a five-year deal and is eligible to play for City in the FIFA Club World Cup in the US, which starts on Sunday.
