Man Utd perform U-turn

Manchester United have reportedly performed a U-turn on their plans for Sekou Kone.

The midfielder was expected to spend next season out on at Lausanne, but that is no longer the case.

According to Mail Sport, Kone has impressed Ruben Amorim and his staff to such an extent in training that he is now expected to remain with the Red Devils.

Lausanne is an INEOS-owned club and other youngsters could be sent to the Swiss side instead.

Forest eyeing surprise swoop for Jadon Sancho

Nottingham Forest are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.

The winger is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim, with several top clubs around Europe monitoring his situation closely.

According to The Sun, Forest are among his admirers, with owner Evangelos Marinakis prepared to splash the cash on a deal to acquire the services of the England international.

Sancho is viewed as the ideal replacement for Anthony Elanga after he joined Newcastle recently, and they feel they can help him rediscover his best form at the City Ground.

Another club president set to play key role in Gyokeres saga

Arsenal may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres.

Sporting are planning to replace the Swedish international with Almeria star Luis Suarez, and they risk missing out on the striker if they do not act quickly.

Almeria president Joao Goncalves has now threatened to sell Suarez to another club, which could set off alarm bells at Sporting – who may need to accelerate talks with Gyokeres to ensure they do not risk missing out on one of their key targets.

Goncalves told CNN Portugal: “Luis has had his best season, he's in the best moment of his career.

31 goals is a number any forward wants to achieve.

“We haven't had any official contact with Sporting to date.

Dortmund would be able to offer Moore plenty of first-team minutes, though a loan deal looks more likely than permanent at this stage.

Spurs have been looking to tie Moore down to a new long-term deal but without success at this stage.

Newcastle reconsidering deal

Newcastle are reportedly willing to move on from their pursuit of James Trafford.

The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park over the last 12 months and there had been a sense of inevitability that a deal would take place ahead of next season.

However, the Daily Mail report that Manchester City’s emergence for the young goalkeeper – and their buyback option – has prompted the Magpies to reconsider their approach as they are ‘comfortable’ with their current options between the sticks.

Arsenal hoping for Gyokeres breakthrough soon

Arsenal are reportedly ‘close’ to finalising an agreement with Sporting for Viktor Gyokeres.

GiveMeSport report that all parties are hopeful that a breakthrough in talks can be made this weekend, with a small portion of add-ons currently preventing a total agreement from being reached.

Arsenal are set to pay £54.8million as a fixed fee for the Swedish star, plus £8.6m in add-ons.

Manchester United book Mbeumo medical

Manchester United have booked Bryan Mbeumo’s medical to take place this weekend, reports The Athletic.

After weeks of talks, the Red Devils have now reached an agreement worth up to £71million for the winger, and they will push for the Cameroon international to put pen to paper with the club as soon as possible.

United saw two bids rejected for Mbeumo previously but remained locked in talks over a deal, with the 25-year-old’s preference to head to Old Trafford over Newcastle and Spurs helping talks progress.

Liverpool 'open' to late move for Isak

Liverpool are reportedly ‘open’ to pursuing Alexander Isak later in the window if he is granted permission to leave Newcastle.

The Reds remain locked in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over a deal for Hugo Ekitike currently, but a double striker swoop is not being ruled out on Merseyside.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are ready to strike if Newcastle change their stance on selling Isak.

They will not ‘close the door’ on the idea of signing the Sweden international as he remains their top target this summer.
