Chelsea are ready to accept around £50m after Nicolas Jackson told the club he wanted leave Stamford Bridge after two seasons at the Blues.

Jackson has led the line for the club and been their first choice No 9 since joining from Villarreal but has seen two new strikers arrive this summer.

The Senegal international was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday after it was agreed he could seek pastures new.

It was understood that the west Londoners wanted around £80m before they let their striker leave, but that stance has since cooled.

Reports had suggested the academy graduate could be used as a makeweight in a possible Baleba offer, but those appear wide of the mark.
