Newcastle reconsidering deal
Newcastle are reportedly willing to move on from their pursuit of James Trafford.
The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park over the last 12 months and there had been a sense of inevitability that a deal would take place ahead of next season.
However, the Daily Mail report that Manchester City’s emergence for the young goalkeeper – and their buyback option – has prompted the Magpies to reconsider their approach as they are ‘comfortable’ with their current options between the sticks.

Arsenal hoping for Gyokeres breakthrough soon
Arsenal are reportedly ‘close’ to finalising an agreement with Sporting for Viktor Gyokeres.
GiveMeSport report that all parties are hopeful that a breakthrough in talks can be made this weekend, with a small portion of add-ons currently preventing a total agreement from being reached.
Arsenal are set to pay £54.8million as a fixed fee for the Swedish star, plus £8.6m in add-ons.

Manchester United book Mbeumo medical
Manchester United have booked Bryan Mbeumo’s medical to take place this weekend, reports The Athletic.
After weeks of talks, the Red Devils have now reached an agreement worth up to £71million for the winger, and they will push for the Cameroon international to put pen to paper with the club as soon as possible.
United saw two bids rejected for Mbeumo previously but remained locked in talks over a deal, with the 25-year-old’s preference to head to Old Trafford over Newcastle and Spurs helping talks progress.

Liverpool 'open' to late move for Isak
Liverpool are reportedly ‘open’ to pursuing Alexander Isak later in the window if he is granted permission to leave Newcastle.
The Reds remain locked in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over a deal for Hugo Ekitike currently, but a double striker swoop is not being ruled out on Merseyside.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are ready to strike if Newcastle change their stance on selling Isak.
They will not ‘close the door’ on the idea of signing the Sweden international as he remains their top target this summer.
