Everton have opened talks with Manchester City to sign Jack Grealish on a season-long loan.

Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool NOT to spend £150million on Alexander Isak and believes the club’s summer spree does not look 'planned'.

The Premier League champions have spent well over £250m on players this summer and that figure could soon nudge the £400million mark if they table an increased offer for Isak.

Amongst a lot of Liverpool fans, there is excitement at the prospect of the Newcastle striker joining a forward line that already includes Hugo Ekitike, a £79m capture from Eintracht Frankfurt.

I'm happy he's with us."

It's not been the summer which Newcastle fans were hoping for.

Despite securing Champions League football, the Magpies have missed out top targets such as James Trafford, Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro - all to Premier League rivals - and now Benjamin Sesko is set to join that list.

So, who should they go for instead if Alexander Isak is indeed destined for Liverpool?

Ollie Watkins would be a safe bet but Aston Villa won't part ways easily.

Newcastle also made a £25million bid for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, who's recently come back off strike, earlier in the window.

Could they take a punt on Nicolas Jackson, who Chelsea are willing to offload?

Or what about going abroad?

Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Ramos has been mentioned.

Manchester United privately believe that Benjamin Sesko wants to join them instead of Newcastle.

Sesko, 22, is at the centre of a tug-of-war between the two Premier League clubs, who've both held positive talks with RB Leipzig.
