FIFA president Gianni Infantino confirmed that talks are underway for Cristiano Ronaldo to join a Club World Cup side on loan.
Ronaldo's Al-Nassr side did not qualify for this summer's competition, which includes the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Miami.
But the legendary striker may still feature, as Infantino told streamer IShowSpeed: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup.
There are discussions.”
When asked about the matter again, Infantino replied: “Yeah, Cristiano Ronaldo might play in the Club World Cup, yeah.
“There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup…who knows, who knows.”
