The Real Madrid star is the big omission along with Jack Grealish who was hoping to be in after his move to Everton.

Djed Spence is called up with Ben White injured while Elliot Anderson also gets rewarded with a first call up under Thomas Tuchel.

Alexander-Arnold is the biggest absentee from the latest England squad with Tuchel opting not to call up the Real Madrid star for next month's World Cup qualifying double-header against Andorra and Serbia.

The former Liverpool star had been included in Tuchel's previous squad.

Grealish will also have to bide his time in order to earn an England recall; he moved to Everton this summer in a bid to play regularly after falling down the pecking order at Manchester City and has made a fine start to life with the Toffees, racking up two assists in their recent 2-0 win over Brighton.

There is a place for Marcus Rashford, though, who left Manchester United to join Barcelona earlier this summer.

Rashford and Co are joined by the Nottingham Forest midfielder, Elliott Anderson, who has been rewarded for his own fine form with a maiden senior call-up.

Anderson starred for England's Under-21s this summer in their European Championship triumph.
