Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly not on the verge of being sold by Real Madrid despite the former Liverpool defender enduring a horrific start to life in the Spanish capital.

The right-back divided the fanbase last season when he informed the club that he would be allowing his contract to expire to join Los Blancos on a free transfer.

Many supporters took exception to this decision and determined that Alexander-Arnold had turned his back on his boyhood club by choosing to leave for a Champions League rival.

Alexander-Arnold went on to make five appearances in the tournament.

However, it is only when the regular season began that troubles started to flare up.

Alexander-Arnold started just two of Real Madrid's opening four La Liga fixtures before he picked up a hamstring injury five minutes into the clash with Marseille in the Champions League.

It is now a race against the clock to see if Alexander-Arnold will be part of the team that faces Liverpool at Anfield in November.

Romano insisted that he could 'guarantee' that Real remained very happy with their acquisition of Alexander-Arnold in the summer and they had no plans to sell him.

While it is granted that his start has not been the best, mainly due to his injury, Alexander-Arnold is believed to still be firmly in Real's plans.

The Liverpudlian signed a six-year contract at the Bernabeu in June.
