Trent Alexander-Arnold, the England international who recently signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid, has been effectively barred from driving his £130,000 Range Rover to the club's training ground.

The 26-year-old officially joined Los Blancos on Sunday after leaving Liverpool, his boyhood club, as a free agent.

The Premier League champions received an £8.4million fee for releasing him early from his contract, as Real Madrid were eager for him to join their squad in time for the Club World Cup later this month.

However, as Alexander-Arnold gets to know the rest of Xabi Alonso's team, he will have to say goodbye to the car model he's been driving around the UK.

One of Alexander-Arnold's favourite vehicles to drive had been a Range Rover P530.

His luxury SUV featured a 4.4 V8 twin-turbo engine that delivered 530 horsepower and a maximum torque of 750 Nm.

His version of the model, which is no longer available to purchase, was priced by Land Rover at £130,000.

Equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system, it could propel its more than 2.5 tonnes from 0 to 100km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph.

However, if the player had been hoping to ship his car over to Madrid or purchase a similar model for everyday use in Spain, he would've been sorely disappointed.

This is due to Real Madrid's sponsorship agreement with BMW, which prevents players from driving any other brand of car to training, according to Spanish outlet El Motor.

Each year, the esteemed German car maker provides Real Madrid stars with a fancy set of wheels for the season, sticking strictly to plug-in hybrid and electric models.

These top-notch motors are then sold off by BMW as pre-loved gems.

Trent Alexander-Arnold might be slightly gutted about missing out on driving freebie cars from another leading manufacturer, yet he'll not be totally out of luck – he'll still have the keys to a spiffy high-performance SUV just like his current one without spending a penny.

Not to be outdone, Vinicius Junior went for the even more upmarket BMW i7 M70 xDrive, ringing in at a cool £157,000.

Quick to settle into life at Los Blancos, Alexander-Arnold was spotted making waves at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona during his first public outing wearing the famous white kit.

Jumping on Real's celebratory post, he cheerfully commented "El Jefe", showing he's ready to embrace his fresh start under 'the boss'.
