When you think of players who have come to Liverpool and completely changed the trajectory of the club, one of the first names that will likely spring to mind is that of Mohamed Salah.

They were certainly nowhere near what he has actually gone on to achieve, anyway.

The winger has broken almost every record you could possibly think of and is Liverpool’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, amassing 184 goals in the league alone during his eight seasons at the club.

Now 33, many are baffled as to how he continues to perform week in, week out, with the Egyptian still, arguably, the best player in the league.

He always maintains his best possible shape and when he first reported to pre-season training at Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold told the COPA 90 YouTube channel back in 2018 that he could not believe his eyes.

“The first day of pre-season was just a running session.

Not a race, just to see how far you can run really,” the former Liverpool full-back said.

“It gets harder each lap you do so you end up doing quite a bit of running and you drop out when you can’t go any further.

‘Nobody was running against him anymore and it was just that hunger to win and to just carry on.

He just wouldn’t stop… it just seemed his limit was above everyone else’s.”

Seven years on and Salah is still doing the exact same, suggesting that the players he has played with are likely not shocked by just how good he has gone on to be.

Salah has broken record after record and he will likely do the same next season, however one record that will likely remain for quite some time is that of the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Alan Shearer still holds this title on 260 goals, meaning Salah is 74 away from his tally, an achievement he will not break unless he extends his two-year contract even further.

However, moving above Harry Kane into second on this list is very plausible, with the Egyptian needing 27 goals in two seasons to do so.
