Former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes believes it will be difficult for Trent Alexander-Arnold to leave Liverpool at the end of the season after winning the Premier League title.
The 26-year-old provided an assist as the Reds thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 on Sunday afternoon to claim a second league title triumph in five seasons.
But with the Reds defender out of contract at the end of June and heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, this season's Premier League success could be the last piece of silverware of his Anfield career.
And Scholes believes Sunday's Premier League title success will give Alexander-Arnold fresh food for thought when he weighs up whether to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
"It will be a difficult decision for him.
When you’re a local lad, it’s very hard to leave your club, especially when you’ve just won the Premier League," wrote Scholes in his TNT Sport column.

"He’s with a big club at Liverpool and if you’re not at a big club it’s easy to make that move to Real Madrid.
In an attempt to win the Premier League and Champions League, you’ll compete with Man City, Arsenal and even Chelsea might spend big again, so it’s more difficult to win here.

"Do Liverpool look like a team that can go on and win the league for the next five or six years?

"But with Liverpool, you’re just not quite sure and football is all about winning trophies.
