Mohamed Salah's late equaliser cancelled out a first half strike from Ismaila Sarr, which sees the Egyptian equal the record for most goal contributions in a Premier League season with 47.

Following the full-time whistle, the Reds finally got their hands on the trophy almost a month after winning the league.

Arne Slot's side secured top spot with four matches remaining after beating Tottenham on April 27 and have played four matches since.

Alexander-Arnold later confirmed his exit from the club when his contract expires in the summer.

As a result, his appearance against Palace is his last at Anfield as a Liverpool player.

The right-back was introduced at half-time in place of Conor Bradley for his 354th Reds outing.

Across those matches, Alexander-Arnold has scored 23 goals and provided 92 assists.

Having joined the club's academy as a youngster, he departs after 21 years with Liverpool.

He appeared to be fighting back tears as he was consoled by his teammates before the trophy presentation.

The England international then kissed the Liverpool badge after receiving his Premier League winners' medal.

Speaking during the title celebrations, Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports: "I didn't know what to expect stepping out at Anfield after what had happened a few weeks ago.

"I wanted to play for the club one last time, I said it to the manager."

The defender had been booed during the previous home match against Arsenal after coming off the bench.

Alexander-Arnold continued: "From the bottom of my heart I hope that one day the fans and supporters will recognise what I did for the team.

"There wasn't a minute that I didn't think about the team, since I was six years old."

He added: "This day will be remembered as the most beautiful of my life.

I have never felt so loved and cared for as I did today."

It is the second league title of his career following the previous triumph in 2020 under Jurgen Klopp.

The German coach, who left the club last summer, also made an Anfield return on the final day.

Klopp was seen cheering his old side on in the stands having spent almost nine years in the dugout himself.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson were also in attendance for the match.
