Jürgen Klopp could soon have Trent Alexander-Arnold available again after Liverpool teased the defender's injury return.

The Reds' vice-captain's absence has given Conor Bradley a chance to stake his claim, with the youngster catching the eye with some impressive performances.

Speaking before the international break, Klopp revealed that Alexander-Arnold was not too far away from returning, although this weekend's visit of Brighton is likely to come too soon.

On Thursday, Liverpool's official social media accounts hinted at the 25-year-old's return to action.

In a short video, Alexander-Arnold is seen continuing his recovery on an exercise bike before being tested by the club's medical staff.

The England international is then seen out on the training pitch kicking a ball.

The clip is likely to have gone down well with Liverpool supporters but The Athletic claims that caution is still being taken.

It is reported that Alexander-Arnold has stepped up his rehab over the international break but Liverpool's medical team are eager to avoid another setback.

It is suggested that the defender is targeting a return to action for the Europa League quarter-final first leg against Atalanta on April 11, or the Premier League match with Crystal Palace a few days later.

Klopp is likely to provide an update on Alexander-Arnold, and a number of other injury absentees, when he speaks to the media on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Mail reports that Joël Matip stepped up his rehabilitation by running for the first time this week after his ACL injury.

Liverpool.com says: Bradley has been an excellent deputy for Alexander-Arnold but Liverpool is simply a better side with its' number 66 in it.
