The footballing world continues to pay tribute to Diogo Jota following his tragic death.
Liverpool fans and players knew just how special Jota really was, and they all want him to be remembered in the way that he should be.
The tributes Jota has received show not only how good a footballer he was, but how amazing a human being he was too, with everyone realising what type of person has been taken from the world far too soon.
The Portuguese’s funeral took place on Saturday 5th July, with both current and former teammates coming together in celebration of the wonderful life the 28-year-old lived.
Although all would have been desperate to attend, some simply could not due to various reasons, with Trent Alexander-Arnold one player who could not go due to his work commitments with Real Madrid.
However, the Englishman still found time to pay his respects and dedicated his performance to his former teammate and friend.

The news of Jota’s death has impacted the entire world, but none more so than those who had a close association with the Liverpool forward.
With the Club World Cup still going on, the effect it has had on players is clear for all to see, with many still having to play despite the grief they are currently suffering.

Alexander-Arnold is one of these players, but his tribute to Jota after his game against Borussia Dortmund shows how he wants to play in his former teammate’s memory.
I tried to do it as best as I could, but it was difficult and I am not going to lie about that,” Alexander-Arnold told DAZN post-match.

“[Jota] was one of my close friends – and I am sure that’s what he would have wanted me to do.
“I shared the dressing room with him for five years – amazing memories on and off the pitch.
He will live long in all our memories for the amazing man and the player he was.
“It’s very emotional and heartwarming to see the footballing world come together to show their love and support for [Jota], his brother and their family”.
It says a lot about a person when every single tribute paid towards them is only positive, and Jota has had just that.
It also has shown that he was an amazing footballer, but an even better human being, with most people who have sent their condolences wanting to ensure the world knows what he was like away from the football pitch.
Jota was born to be a Liverpool player and he epitomised what it took to don the famous Red shirt, with his number 20 being retired for all the right reasons.
The Reds have lost an amazing player but more importantly, the world has lost a truly amazing person, with Jota’s tragic death, unfortunately, a reminder of just how short and cruel life can be.
Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
