Real Madrid will unveil Trent Alexander-Arnold as their new player on Thursday(Image: The FA via Getty Images)
Former Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has deleted references to his iconic No.
66 ahead of his unveiling as a Real Madrid player today.
The full-back's departure from Anfield was confirmed towards the end of this season after he released a video explaining that he would not be renewing his contract at the club.
Initially, the decision was met with anger by Liverpool supporters, with some fans booing him when he came on to face Arsenal.
However, he did receive cheers when he picked up his Premier League winner's medal on the final day of the season.
His inevitable move to Real was confirmed soon afterwards, with the La Liga giants paying approximately £10m to sign the full-back in time for the Club World Cup.

Having been away on international duty with England, Los Blancos have since confirmed he will be unveiled at Real Madrid City today (Thursday, June 12) at 12.30pm CEST.
During the unveiling, Alexander-Arnold will be presented with his new shirt and number for his new journey in Spain.
While some players choose to keep a number for the remainder of their careers, the 26-year-old is not expected to keep the No.66 which served him well at Anfield.

This theory was further cemented on Wednesday when he changed his name on Instagram.
Having previously read '@trentarnold66', his username now reads simply as '@trent'.
As has become a common theme in modern football, it is expected that Alexander-Arnold will have just 'Trent' on the back of his shirt at Madrid and will receive the No.12 at his new club.
The full-back never wore the No.12 for Liverpool but has a couple of times for England.
The new shirt number could be seen as a subtle nod to his Liverpool past due to the obvious six plus six equalling 12.
However, we will not know for certain the number that Alexander-Arnold will wear for Real until later this morning.
