Trent Alexander-Arnold responds as Real Madrid issue injury update amid Liverpool fears

Alexander-Arnold, 26, picked up the injury to the back of his left thigh just three minutes into his Champions League debut for Madrid against Marseille on Tuesday.

The England international was forced to leave the Bernabeu pitch and was replaced by Dani Carvajal, as Madrid went on to win the game 2-1.

If he recovers, the right-back could play against his boyhood club for the first time since his acrimonious departure this summer.

After Tuesday's late victory over Marseille, courtesy of a controversial Kylian Mbappe penalty, Xabi Alonso suggested that Alexander-Arnold's injury wasn't as bad as first feared.
